The romantic portraits are the one of the highlights of the day! This is the only time that the two of you will be away from the hustle and bustle of the day. This is your time to catch your breath and absorb the fact that you just got married!! You’ll be full of excitement and emotion and we want to capture every bit of those sweet moments. I’ll guide you through every step and pose you as needed, but I also want you both to know you have permission to just enjoy the moment and each other! The love that you share is truly beautiful and I want you to know you can take those moments for yourself! I’ll be there to capture them!
According to Southern Weddings Magazine, bridal portraits originated in Europe. Bridal portraits were historically oil paintings of royalty in their bridal regalia and were traditionally commissioned by the bride’s family. It’s unclear how this tradition made its way below the Mason Dixon. But before World War II, it was rare to have a photographer at your wedding. So bridal portraits were taken in the photographer’s studio before the couple’s wedding. Bridals were a rite of passage for Southern debutantes and a family keepsake that was displayed on an easel near the guest book and then hung in the bride’s parents home for years to come.
The bridal portrait is still a very popular tradition in the South. Now brides are opting for a natural setting that not only conveys the bride’s beauty, but her personality, as well. Many brides choose still to use this day as a trial run for hair and makeup, as well as a great way to become more comfortable in front of the lens prior to their wedding day.
Ava Moore: Charleston Fine Art Wedding Photographer
My passion is capturing how you FEEL on your wedding day...and of course doing that in an artistic way and in beautiful light. THAT is what creates fine art! With my camera, I will soak up all the excitement, love, and joy that you express toward each other on your wedding day. This is also true of other precious moments that you spend with your family and friends. I document, what I think is, your heritage. Photographs are essentially heirlooms! Who doesn't LOVE going through old photographs of grandparents and great grandparents? Those photos are some of our most prized possessions in life! I desire for your children and grand children to do the same with your wedding photos...passing them down for generations. Once your wedding day passes, these photos are all you have left....
Fine Art Wedding Photography ranges from $5600-$8400. Images are captured on both film and digital cameras.
